Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching sources of supply and quotes for maintenance, repair and operating (MRO), materials/supplies; obtaining requests for pricing and quotes on products/services and negotiating pricing with approved vendors; preparation and issuance of MRO purchase orders that are used to maintain and fix office/plant equipment; support vendor managed inventory. He/She will reduce the cost of maintaining existing equipment, developing and implementing strategies that are in support of CAFUSA strategic purchasing initiatives.   He/She will negotiate for bulk discounts, finding the lowest-cost materials and supplies within quality standards. He/She will interact with all departments requiring MRO material/services. He/She MUST be able to work as liaison updating and applying information in coordination with the International Procurement Team in Spain for the USA Procurement Team.

  • Engineering knowledge

  • Must be able to build rapport with vendors and able to travel to supplier’s sites when needed.

  • Must be proactive and able to use internal resources to solve problems and/or offer ideas and solutions to senior management.

  • Have prior manufacturing experience and knowledge of MRO materials/supplies/services.

  • Experience in researching and purchasing parts and determining the right vendors to get material from for the Project.

  • Assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations and CAFUSA documentation of MRO purchases, and General Purchasing Conditions.

  • Receive Price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements and Budget, and Purchase Orders via email or computer.

  • Manage all aspects of MRO purchasing and distribution while considering cost-effective solutions.

  • Proven negotiation and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent systems aptitude (like BaaN experience a plus).

  • Demonstrated ability to work with appropriate sense of urgency and drive for results.  

  • Must be well organized with the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize appropriately.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a four-year degree in Business or related field (supply chain desired), with at least 3 years work experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

  • Ability to work independently
