Director of Quality

Ensures the administration of the Operations/Production/ Manufacturing quality and processes. Responsible for establishment and reporting of quality metrics for Production. Works with Operations to improve quality. Responsible for the Kaizen Teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
  • Audit for compliance with company policies and quality objectives
  • Ensure that testing standards, procedures, and equipment provide reliable results ensuring shipment of quality products.
  • Create and manage control plans for all products.
  • Train, Mentor and develop technicians and peers to be skilled experts in the application of Quality tools
  • Lead problem-solving and process improvement processes with manufacturing and when needed involve customers to achieve resolution and elimination of current product issues
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement resulting in productivity gains from doing it right the first time
  • Ensure that Bentek meets external requirements of customers and regulatory agencies
  • Provide for successful new product launches by ensuring clear specification development, process capability definition, and attainment of customer satisfaction on initial shipments
  • Provide leadership to direct reports in accordance with company core values
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Requires a B.S. Degree in Engineering or significant experience plus special training. 5 years or more experience in a quality role in addition of 5+ years experience in a leadership position.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Understands quality systems and requirements including ISO, UL1741, UL508A
  • Converts information into action and improves company performance
  • Understands major aspects of producing products that meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Can teach and mentor others in the fundamentals of problem solving and the use of Quality tools
  • Knowledge of statistics, SPC and Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of ISO and auditing experience
  • Able to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines
  • Influencing skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Understands the role of Quality in a manufacturing organization
