To be successful in this position, Principal Catheter Engineers should be able to or have a background in:

Commercialization success with catheter product(s)

Identification of novel concepts or design elements

Strong catheter design and development knowledge and experience

Expertise on bench models for characterizing catheter deliverability, flexibility, compatibility, etc

Experience working with the customer to get feedback on product design

Working knowledge of design, analytical and prototyping tools including proficiency with DOE analysis and 3D modeling

Technical writing skills, ability to develop V&V plans and reports for technology development

Understanding of catheter manufacturing processes Complete understanding of product development lifecycle and phases

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Experience in a regulated medical device industry

Results oriented and self-motivated with a focus on execution

Hands-on mentality

Strong biocompatible material knowledge for catheter design

**Ideal candidates will posses:**

10+ year of experience in catheter product and technology development

Advance Technical degree (MS) in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering field

Strong understanding of cardio vascular catheter based products and competition

Understanding of ultrasound transducers and electro mechanical catheter a plus

IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound) catheter development experience a plus

Experience working with physicians and customers in a catheter product development role

Experience in technology development in a pre-production and or product development position in the medical field

Strong knowledge and experience using CAD tools (SolidWorks) to model catheter designs

Working knowledge of finite element analysis, tolerance analysis, and geometric tolerance

Awareness and working knowledge of system level constraints in all disciplines including mechanical, electrical and polymers

Working knowledge of medical terminology and awareness of competition

Knowledge of QSR, ISO/EN and Quality System Standards

Experience working with and providing direction to contract manufacturers

Project management experience
