Job Title: Inventory Forklift Operator
Type of Role: Temp to Hire
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (Flexibility as needed)
Location: Gilroy, CA
Pay Range: $18 – $19/Hour

Job Summary:
The Inventory Forklift Driver is responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise within the fulfillment distribution center. This role combines physical forklift operation with inventory management tasks such as cycle counting, stock auditing, and system data entry to ensure inventory accuracy and smooth fulfillment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts (stand-up, sit-down, reach truck, etc.) safely and efficiently to transport inventory throughout the facility.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits according to schedule and report discrepancies.
• Verify inbound and outbound shipments against documentation and ensure correct product and quantity.
• Update inventory systems using warehouse management software (WMS).
• Assist in locating misplaced or misallocated items and investigate inventory inaccuracies.
• Organize and maintain storage locations for efficient picking and stock rotation.
• Support receiving, replenishment, picking, and shipping departments as needed.
• Comply with OSHA safety standards and company policies regarding forklift and warehouse operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine equipment checks.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• 1+ years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Familiarity with inventory management practices and systems (e.g., RF scanners, WMS).
• Basic computer/data entry skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced, high-volume fulfillment center environment.
• Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season and warehouse zone.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
