Job Title: Processing Engineer
Type of Role: Direct Hire

Location: Stockton, CA
Salary Range: $75K

Our client, a global manufacturing and refining organization, is seeking a Process Engineer to support and improve their EHS, operations, and compliance systems across the facility. This role sits at the intersection of process engineering, operational technology (OT), and information technology (IT), working closely with IT, operations, maintenance, and leadership to ensure IT/OT systems, workflows, and data support safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Process Engineer or Chemical Engineer who enjoys working with systems, data, workflows, and cross-functional teams in a large-scale, regulated industrial environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Own and support EHS-related systems, processes, and workflows, ensuring alignment with regulatory and company standards
• Partner with IT, operations, and engineering teams to analyze, optimize, and document plant process workflows and system usage
• Support and improve IT/OT systems including EHS platforms, CMMS/MES tools, reporting systems, and operational data flows
• Drive improvements in data quality, process visibility, and performance reporting for safety, compliance, and operations
• Participate in incident tracking, root cause analysis, and corrective action workflows from a systems and process perspective
• Define, maintain, and improve SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation within enterprise systems
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews by ensuring systems, data, and documentation are accurate and audit-ready
• Collaborate on process change management, system updates, and plant improvement initiatives
• Track, analyze, and report key process, safety, and compliance KPIs using internal tools and platforms
   

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 1–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, refining, chemical, or regulated industrial environment
• Strong interest or experience in EHS systems, OT/IT platforms, or operational process management
• Experience working with process documentation, workflow tools, reporting systems, or operational data
• Comfortable acting as a bridge between plant operations and IT systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CMMS, MES, EHS systems, ERP, or BI/reporting tools is a plus
