Job Title: Material Lead for the Shipping and Receiving Department
Type of Role: Long-term / Contract to Hire
Shift / Hours: Mon-Fri 8a-5p for Training and as needed and 6a – 2:30p
Location: Far East El Paso, TX
Hourly Range: $18.00 – $20.00
Position Summary
Material Lead (Shipping and Receiving) is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate inventory control, timely material flow, and compliance with company procedures. This role provides leadership to warehouse personnel and ensures all materials are
handled, stored, and distributed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.
• Supervise warehouse team members and assign daily tasks.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Ensure accurate documentation of received and shipped materials.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and system updates.
• Coordinate outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and carrier scheduling.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to shipments or inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor material flow to support production and operational needs.
• Train and mentor warehouse staff on procedures and best practices.
• Maintain organized and clean warehouse areas.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with inventory management systems (ERP/WMS).
• Strong understanding of logistics and material handling processes.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, inventory systems).
