Balance Staffing is seeking an EHS Manager in the Casa Grande, AZ area.

Overview:

The EHS Manager oversees the EHS and Security programs ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, standards, codes, and company policies. The EHS Manager is responsible for full integration of safety and environmental management into the facility’s operations. They will work with management to ensure the company’s safety and environmental goals are met and make recommendations to the management team with regard to program implementation and improvements.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for various environmental reporting (Tier II, TRI Form R, Pollution Prevention P2, etc.).
  • Meets regularly with Safety Committee to communicate and review miscellaneous EHS items.
  • Develops, implements, and manages an accident and injury investigation program to include identifying root causes and the elimination of potential hazards and reoccurrences and maintains appropriate records (i.e. OSHA 300 Logs) to ensure compliance.
  • Provides training and guidance on EHS topics to the management team.
  • Provides awareness of environmental and safety issues through training and continual communication.
  • Responsible for developing all training materials that support environmental and safety programs as well as schedules, assists and/or conducts required training programs; maintains appropriate records to ensure compliance with, but not limited to hazardous materials, blood borne pathogens, confined space, lockout/tag-out, ergonomics, etc.
  • Oversees safety and environmental activities through management personnel to ensure implementation of safety and environmental activities throughout the organization.
  • Contributes and engages in the development, maintenance and reporting of PSM, RMP, Hazardous Waste programs.
  • Develops and maintains accident prevention and loss control systems.
  • Identifies and appraises conditions that may produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries and environmental hazard resulting from accidents.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepare reports for information to personnel involved or concerned.
  • Performs Job Hazard Analysis to evaluate individual tasks for hazard identification, elimination, and minimization.
  • Coordinates accident investigations with managers to include the evaluation of each investigation to ensure that the root cause or causes have been identified and that the corrective actions are appropriate and tracked to closure.
  • Acts as a team facilitator for site and/or program area’s safety committees.
  • Gives presentations to committees to enhance learning and updates committee members on plant safety.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations pertaining to environmental and safety standards and maintain appropriate records. Interfaces with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DOL, DOH, and AZDEQ and assists during regulatory inspections.
  • Participates in the removal of hazardous and regulated waste and conducts facility-wide inspections as necessary; maintains associated records, and prepare reports.
  • Conducts safety tours both formal (with safety committee) and informal, recognizing and following through on corrections of job hazards.
  • Works and communicates in a team environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required by the Company.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • The ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills, set expectations, measure and observe performance and provide evaluations.
  • Proficient computer skills and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and be able to compile reports.

Education / Experience / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related field required
  • 5-10 years in EHS Management, Auditing and Compliance.
