We are seeking to hire a Production Supervisor to support our client in Tracy, CA.  Our client is a high-quality, full-line, portion controlled further processor of beef, pork, and poultry for the Military, Retail, Foodservice, and School channels.

Summary
Guided by our principals of Mutual Respect, Trust, Teamwork, Communication, and Responsibility, the Production Supervisor directs and coordinates production, processing, and distribution.  This position is responsible for ensuring order deadlines and daily efficiency goals are met and requires a high level of inter-departmental communication and collaboration.  This person must be able to multitask, provide quick responses/solutions to unforeseen production problems, and must always exhibit a professional, efficient demeanor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment(s); Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and maximize throughput
  • Motivates, coaches, communicates (written and oral); Organizes and leads people and projects
  • Monitors and oversees employees on assigned production line(s) ensuring Production Sheet Instructions are followed, employees are taking timely uninterrupted meal and rest breaks, and production is completed in a safe and timely manner
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent operational delays
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and offers potential solutions
  • Interprets specifications, formulas, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces GMP and safety regulations. Maintains a working knowledge of and adheres to company policies and procedures
  • Notifies Plant Manager of any unscheduled absences and unforeseen issues
  • Completes the Production Job in the Canopy System
  • Responsible for Daily & Weekly reports on yields
  • Responsible for Batch record review
  • Follows all safety guidelines and ensures all employees follow safety guidelines; reports any work-related injuries to HR as soon as possible (no later than 24 hours); monitors production floor for any safety hazards and reports issues to Plant Manager and/or HR
  • Creates, reviews, and follows daily employee work schedule; addresses any concerns with the Plant Manager
  • Fill out paperwork timely and correctly throughout the shift
  • Maintains and proactively updates production standards summary to increase efficiency
  • Encourages and counsels employees to maintain a high level of professionalism and to address issues with management and HR if necessary
  • Answers radio requests, emails, and voice messages
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Purchasing, Warehouse, QA, HR and R&D regarding material, equipment, quality concerns, labor status, personnel issues, etc.
  • Assists other employees as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities

 

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/work experience
  • Two to Five years of Supervisory experience in a Processing/Manufacturing environment
  • Effective communication skills to convey instructions, report issues, and interact with employees
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and foster a positive working environment
  • Ability to identify and solve production-related problems efficiently
  • Advanced knowledge of GMPs; HACCP Certified
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

Swing Shift: 1:30pm-10:30pm
