Job Title: Welder
Type of Role: Regular Full-Time
Shift / Hours: Shifts: 5:30 AM – 2 PM (8-hour shifts) and 5:30 AM – 4 PM (10-hour shifts). Candidates need to be open to working up to ten-hour days and may include overtime on Saturdays. Most employees work about 50 hours per week.
Location: Ottawa, KS
Hourly Range: $21

Join a leading company in the construction and fabrication industry as a Welder, where you’ll work on some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the commercial building, bridge, and industrial sectors. You will be responsible for welding a variety of materials, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety while using techniques like FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and SAW.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Weld materials in all positions (ground level, above ground, below ground) using FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and SAW techniques.
- Follow industry-standard procedures (AWS, AISC) to ensure welds meet or exceed quality requirements.
- Grind, chip, and prepare materials for welding or finishing.
- Weld structural materials such as plates, sheets, girders, and tanks, often under strict heat application and tolerance standards.
- Perform gouging and scarfing as needed.
- Ensure welds meet certification standards, including AWS D1.1.
- Operate cranes to transport materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in welding techniques (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, SAW).
- Strong experience welding a variety of metals such as steel and aluminum.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- At least 12 months of stable work experience in welding, with a focus on structural welding.
- Must pass required weld test in accordance with AWS D1.1.
- High school diploma or GED required.
