Job Title: Material Handler
Type of Role: Contract to hire
Shift / Hours:
Day 6am-4:30pm
Night 6pm-4:30am
Overtime and weekends as needed
Location: Tempe, AZ
Hourly Range: $20
Summary:
The Production Team Member is a member of the Manufacturing Production Team and will be responsible for contributing to the hands-on production of Company’s world-class vehicles and/or electric vehicle powertrains. Excellent attendance is crucial for team to achieve success. He/she must have the ability to work with various teams across departments. They will also be required to work closely with engineering, quality, and suppliers in various aspects of the overall manufacturing process. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within Company and outside.
You Will:
• Work as an integral part of the production team to ensure smooth operations and efficient output.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Perform various tasks including assembly, packaging, and machine operation as necessary.
• Follow standardized operating procedures and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
• Adherence to Environmental Health and Safety standards including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by job assignment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of production processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for all staff members.
• Physical work including but not limited to frequent pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, lifting, standing, repetitive motions, etc.
• Lifting objects at various load levels.
• Use of tooling that requires specialized training.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and adapt to new environments.
• Comfortable learning new technology
• Flexibility to support any shift including day, night and swing shifts, as needed. Weekend and holiday work may be required.
• Punctuality and attendance are paramount.
• Ability to follow a required specific sequence of steps in a process repetitively for an extended period of time.
• Ability to maintain rate of production while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred:
• Service in the United States Military with honorable discharge.
• Previous experience working in an automotive OEM plant.
You Bring:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have command of the English language both written & verbal.
• All potential employees will be required to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
Comments for Suppliers: Must be able to work both AM and PM shifts.
