Job Title: Equipment Operator
Location: Distribution Center
Shifts 1 and 2 are 10 hours Mon-Th
Shift 1 starts from 4am-6am
Pay: $19.50
Shift 2 starts from 4pm-6pm
Pay: $20
Shifts 3 and 4 are 12 hours Fri-Sat
Shift 3 starts from 4am-6am
Pay: $21
Shift 4 starts from 4pm-6pm
Pay: $21
Job Summary: As an Equipment Operator, you will be integral to the efficient and safe transport of products within our distribution center. You’ll operate various types of powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as standup forklifts, order selectors, reach trucks, powered pallet jacks, and dock stockers. Your role will help maintain a high standard of productivity, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate powered industrial trucks (certification provided) and perform daily equipment checks.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines including hazard recognition, reporting accidents and near misses, and adhering to safety equipment and procedures.
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack, sort, count, and receive merchandise using RF scanners.
- Product Handling: Safely move products with powered material handling equipment, work with conveyors to build pallets, and load/unload trucks.
- Warehouse Organization: Effectively organize storage space and maintain quality and production standards.
- Physical Tasks: Lift and move items up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, walking, and occasionally climbing or crawling.
- Communication and Teamwork: Follow instructions, work effectively in a team environment, and understand basic written and oral instructions in English.
Essential Qualifications:
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1-2 years of equipment operation experience is ideal but not required. Solid math skills and basic computer knowledge are preferred.
- Certification: Ability to complete training and obtain certification for assigned equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Constant exposure to loud noises and occasional work in high places.
- Variable temperatures, dusty environments, and potential exposure to strong scents.
- May need to work in narrow aisles or trailers.
Essential Skills:
- Dependable and self-motivated with the ability to follow safety and operational procedures.
- Flexibility in performing various warehouse tasks as needed.
