Job Title: Sit Down Forklift Driver

Hourly Range: $18/hour

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Sit Down Forklift Driver for a full-time, long-term contract role in Castroville, CA. This is a great opportunity to join a mission-driven organization focused on ecological preservation and sustainable land management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, as well as other material handling equipment

• Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper stacking and freight verification

• Report shortages, damages, and misplacements

• Identify and recover damaged or incorrect shipments

• Pull, prepare, and stage products for shipment

• Ensure accuracy of product type and quantity for orders

• Perform efficient picking duties to meet customer standards

• Move products between staging/storage and shipping areas

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

• Comply with all safety procedures

• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience)

• At least 1 year of sit-down or stand-up forklift experience

• Ability to operate forklifts and related attachments

• Basic computer skills (Warehouse Management Systems)

• Strong arithmetic, reading, and communication skills

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) Desired, but not required

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

• Flexibility to work various shifts

• Strong attention to detail and organization

Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting items over 50 lbs. Must be able to meet vision requirements and follow all safety protocols. Frequent exposure to cold environments is expected. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
