1st: 0700a-0330p M-F
2nd: 0300p-1130p M-F

Location:
Pflugerville, TX

Hourly Range:
$20.50


About the Job:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support engineering design, development, and testing of hardware and software systems. This role will involve troubleshooting, assembling prototypes, performing test procedures, and working closely with engineers to improve product performance.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex engineering tests, checkouts, and fault isolation tasks.

  • Diagnose malfunctions down to the component level and implement design improvements.

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and test instructions to plan procedures.

  • Conduct tests of systems and components under operational conditions.

  • Record detailed test results, data, and provide recommendations for process/product changes.

  • Assemble and modify mechanical components, subassemblies, or equipment.

  • Assist with software, hardware, and documentation updates.

  • Train technicians/operators on new products, processes, and tools.

  • May support customer presentations and external technical collaborations.


Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree, military training, or equivalent vocational experience required.

  • 2 to 10+ years of experience in an engineering technician or similar role (levels 4–8).

  • Solid understanding of mechanical/electrical testing methods and tools.

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and follow technical procedures.

  • Familiar with statistical analysis, geometric principles, and root cause analysis.

  • Strong communication skills—able to write reports and present technical findings.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on technical work in a lab or production environment.

  • Experience working in environments with mechanical components, electrical systems, and occasional exposure to chemicals or moving equipment.
