Quality Assurance Technician

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (through October 21, 2025, with potential for extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (mandatory 6-day work week with overtime required, including weekends)
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour


Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards throughout the production process. This role includes calibrating equipment, conducting pre-operational inspections, monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs), and supporting Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs/SSOPs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify product safety and quality throughout the production process, including CCP monitoring.

  • Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and production areas.

  • Conduct and document pre-operational inspections on machinery and equipment.

  • Calibrate and verify production and laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy.

  • Accurately record, maintain, and file all quality and compliance documentation.

  • Ensure recipes and product specifications are followed during processing.

  • Partner with production staff to reinforce sanitation, hygiene, GMPs, and food safety guidelines.

  • Collect product samples for product development, lab retains, and quality testing.

  • Perform product, equipment, and facility inspections.

  • Support QA management in investigations, audits, and corrective actions.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by QA Management.


Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a food processing environment (meat or poultry experience strongly preferred).

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, allergens, and food defense.

  • HACCP Certification preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
