Position: Senior Maintenance Mechanic
Schedule: Thursday to Sunday (Flexibility Required)
Shift Hours: 4:30pm – 2:30am (Flexibility Required)
Pay Rate: $32 – $40/Hour.
Location: Vista, CA

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production and facility equipment to ensure safe, dependable, and efficient operations. This role requires direct expertise with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs). In addition to performing advanced technical work, the Senior Technician supports process improvements, mentors junior team members, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and enhance manufacturing performance.

Essential Function Statement(s):
- Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment used in soft gel, liquid, and gummy manufacturing.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems including motors, sensors, wiring, switches, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems such as conveyors, pumps, mixers, and filling machines.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, compressors, and regulators.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to identify and resolve control system issues; assist with basic programming and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings to support equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Support the installation, relocation, and modification of new or existing equipment.
- Accurately document maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Fiix.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase reliability, safety, and equipment performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior maintenance technicians.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying and managing critical spare parts inventories.
- Lead scheduling and execution of maintenance work orders for instrumentation to achieve site and maintenance objectives.
- Assist in covering production OT on weekends before and after shifts.
- Coordinate the overall quality of the work team and demonstrate understanding of quality standards.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by leading in problem solving within the team and across functional areas- examples would include engaging the work team in discussions about new equipment with Engineering & Maintenance.
- FIIX review of work orders.
- Daily follow-up to ensure work orders are closed per the agreed process.
- Assignment of work orders.
- Completion of quote process and parts requisition through agreed process.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or GED
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a team leader capacity.
- Able to lead and interact with groups at all levels independently.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of organization in a timely and efficient manner.
- Able to work three shift rotation (If required or in case of emergency).
