Schedule: Monday – Friday (overtime may be required based on business needs)
Language: English required; bilingual preferred
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Pay: $14.50 per hour
Position Summary
The Customs & Logistics Clerk supports cross-border and domestic logistics operations by ensuring accurate documentation, timely customs clearance, and smooth coordination of inbound and outbound shipments. This role helps maintain compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations while minimizing delays and disruptions in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Customs & Trade Compliance Support

Prepare, review, and maintain import and export documentation in compliance with U.S. Customs, CBP, and applicable international trade regulations.

Support customs clearance activities for cross-border shipments between the U.S. and Mexico.

Coordinate with customs brokers to resolve documentation discrepancies, holds, or inspections.

Maintain records related to HTS classifications, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates as required.
Logistics & Shipping Coordination

Track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery to manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.

Support shipping and receiving activities, including verification of quantities, documentation accuracy, and system updates.

Escalate delays or transportation issues that may impact production schedules.
Systems & Data Management

Update shipment and customs data in ERP, logistics, or tracking systems (e.g., SAP or TMS).

Maintain accurate records for audits, reporting, and compliance reviews.

Generate basic reports related to shipment status, customs activity, and logistics performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Warehouse, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Planning teams to support material flow.

Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders regarding shipment issues, customs status, and resolutions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics efficiency and compliance.
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
-
1–3 years of experience in logistics, customs, shipping/receiving, or supply chain roles preferred.

Experience supporting cross-border U.S.–Mexico logistics strongly preferred.
Skills

Basic understanding of import/export processes and customs documentation.

Familiarity with logistics systems, ERP platforms, or transportation management systems.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Work Environment

Office and warehouse environment supporting manufacturing operations.

Frequent interaction with logistics teams, carriers, and customs partners.

Occasional exposure to warehouse floor activities and shipping areas.
Physical Demands

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift or move light materials or documents as required.

Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
