Job Title: Shipping Associate
Type of Role: (Contract to Hire)
Shift / Hours: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm
Location: Morgan Hill, CA
Hourly Rate: $19/Hour
SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Logistics Manager, performs a variety of both routine and non-routine duties in accordance with specific instructions and established work procedures. Some duties involve work of a confidential nature which requires knowledge of the company’s customers and pricing policies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Pick and palletize orders as assigned by Supervisor.
· Maintain proper housekeeping in warehouse (First In First Out)
· Use hand truck, pallet jack, and forklift or other equipment to load, unload, move or stack materials and/or products
· Prepare documents for shipments- FEDEX, UPS, LTL Freight BOLS’s
· Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes good relations with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
· Safety shoes (toe protection/slip resistant) and proper PPE must be worn at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the Warehouse / Shipping environment
· Must have working knowledge of the UPS/FEDEX systems as well as preparing freight on pallets.
· Must be familiar with computers running the Windows operating system and be familiar t with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Must be trained or willing to be trained in the following areas for the shipping of hazardous materials: 49CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), DOT (Department of Training), IATA (International Air Transportation Association), IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods), and forklift. Must practice good safety habits at all times.
· Good communication skills required.
· Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
· Must be able to work as a creative, flexible, innovative, and effective member of a team.
· Must be able to read, write legibly, count accurately, and perform simple math.
· Must be punctual with good attendance.
