Job Title: Assistant Sales Manager
Type of Role: Direct Hire
Shift / Hours: Mornings (Flexibility required based on business needs)
Salary: $75K – $90K
Location: San Antonio, TX
Travel: Approximately 25% (occasional out-of-town travel)

An Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the sales department by managing customer accounts, coordinating orders, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the purchasing and fulfillment process. This role works closely with existing clients, internal teams, and leadership to ensure customer needs are met while maintaining operational efficiency. The Assistant Sales Manager also provides guidance to entry-level team members, assists with forecasting, and helps manage day-to-day sales operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, and comfortable working in high-pressure situations while making informed business decisions. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work cross-functionally with logistics, production, and purchasing teams.


Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Sales Manager:

Customer Account Management:
Support and service established customer accounts by managing orders, coordinating requests, and maintaining strong relationships with locked-in clients.

Order Coordination & Communication:
Serve as the primary point of communication throughout the ordering and purchasing process, ensuring orders move efficiently from initiation to fulfillment.

Sales Support & Forecasting:
Assist with forecasting customer demand, tracking order trends, and supporting strategic sales planning to meet business objectives.

Team Leadership:
Oversee and provide guidance to entry-level sales team members, ensuring workflow efficiency and supporting daily operational needs.

Logistics Coordination:
Collaborate with logistics and production teams to schedule shipments, track orders, and ensure accurate delivery timelines.

Client Communication & Scheduling:
Handle customer calls, coordinate scheduling, and ensure timely updates regarding order status, delivery timelines, or product concerns.

Production Floor Collaboration:
Walk the production floor regularly to monitor product flow, ensure order accuracy, and stay aligned with manufacturing operations.

Product Inspection & Issue Resolution:
Conduct visual inspections of merchandise and clearly communicate any defects, damages, or product concerns to customers and internal teams.

Reporting & Data Analysis:
Utilize Excel to analyze sales data, track order performance, and create reports using tools such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and XLOOKUP.

Presentations & Sales Reporting:
Prepare and deliver presentations or updates related to sales performance, forecasts, and operational updates.

Operational Flexibility:
Remain available after hours when necessary to address urgent customer or operational situations.
