Job Title: Electrical Engineer 4 – Power Electronics Test & Validation
Type of Role: Contract – 6+ months with extension potential
Location: Newark, CA, Onsite
Hourly Range: $75 – $85/hour
About the Job
This role supports end-of-line (EOL) testing for automotive power electronics, with a focus on charging systems and high-voltage distribution (HVD). The position provides hands-on exposure to both early-stage development and production testing environments. You’ll work closely with test equipment and lab instrumentation to support midsize vehicle programs.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct and execute end-of-line (EOL) testing from early development through production stages
- Perform testing on automotive charging systems and power electronics units (PEU)
- Operate and utilize lab equipment including AC grid simulators, DC power supplies, and oscilloscopes
- Use automotive tester equipment to validate system performance
- Prepare and procure items necessary for station readiness, including reflash and test equipment
- Support daily test execution and documentation
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of overall experience in electrical or electronics engineering
- Hands-on experience with automotive test equipment
- Hands-on experience using lab equipment (AC grid simulator, DC power supply, oscilloscope, etc.)
- Experience in power electronics testing and validation preferred
- Strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting skills
