Job Title: Die Maintenance Team Lead
Type of Role: Direct Hire
Shift: 2 week rotation
Location: San Antonio, Tx
Pay Range: $25.00/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Die Maintenance Team Lead to support operations in a steel manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting with daily die maintenance activities while leading and supporting a team of technicians to ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in die maintenance along with the ability to guide and support team members on the floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support die maintenance technicians in daily operations and assigned tasks
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on dies, tooling, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair dies to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
- Assist in scheduling and prioritizing maintenance activities based on production needs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA standards
- Inspect dies and tooling for wear, damage, and proper functionality
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve tooling performance and reduce defects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and process optimization
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in die maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Previous lead or team support experience preferred
- Strong understanding of die repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic welding, machining, or fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in steel or heavy manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of stamping, forming, or die tooling processes
