Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager
Type of Role: Direct Hire
Shift / Hours: Mon – Thurs 5:30pm – 5:30am (with every other Fridays)
Location: Mississippi
Salary Range: $65K – $75K
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily operations for warehouse, transportation, and/or production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of frontline supervisors and employees, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Own operational KPIs (productivity, on-time delivery, labor utilization, inventory accuracy) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute shipping, receiving, inventory control, and production schedules to meet both customer demands and internal goals.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company quality assurance standards, taking immediate corrective action when needed.
- Assist the SR Operations Manager with daily operations, collaborating cross-functionally with logistics, HR, finance, and customer service to align business objectives.
- Lead hiring, training, performance management, and career development of operations staff to build a strong, capable team.
- Manage departmental budgets, analyze cost trends, and implement cost-control strategies without compromising service levels.
- Utilize ERP, WMS, and reporting tools to track performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven solutions.
- Represent the operations function in leadership meetings and contribute to long-term strategic planning.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably in warehouse, transportation, or manufacturing environments.
- Automotive industry experience strongly preferred (OEM, Tier 1 supplier, parts distribution, or similar).
- Proven track record of delivering operational excellence through process improvement and team development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems.
- Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
