Job Title: Quality Control Inspector 3 

Type of Role: Contract to Hire

Shift / Hours: Day 6:00 am to 2:30 pm M-F

Location: Milpitas, CA

Hourly Range: $24.00

General Purpose:

Inspects electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Performs visual inspection of electronic cards, sub-assemblies, and systems or units to ensure all products meet established specifications for reliability and workmanship.
  • Utilizes gages, templates, microscopes, and other manufacturing aids to ensure compliance with established specifications for reliability and workmanship.
  • Ensures that all required process operations have been performed on the product being inspected.
  • Enters all quality data into the appropriate electronic or manual systems.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel if unusual product defects are identified or if process yields fall below acceptable levels.
  • Provides timely feedback to manufacturing if non-conforming products are identified.
  • Accurately completes all administrative activities associated with quality inspection.
  • Performs process audits and assists manufacturing with the interpretation of quality and workmanship standards.
  • Assists with the disposition of all non-conforming materials/products.

Education/Experience:
Completion of a high school degree or equivalent is preferred. Successful completion of company provided training may be required.
Typically requires 6-12 months of related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrates functional skills. Demonstrates basic functional process knowledge and participates in process. Has awareness of Flextronics techniques. Typically requires an understanding of inspection techniques. Use of the following tools may be required: Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics, touch-up, commercial soldering, mechanical assembly, surface mount assembly, point to point wiring; Inspection: bare board, loaded, components, cable/harness, microscope, measuring tools; Mechanical & Electrical Tools: measuring tools; Office Skills: data entry, spreadsheet, manufacturing systems software.

Able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads and supervisors of the organization.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and distance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Supervision/Leadership:
Receives general instructions on new assignments. Typically requires little supervision.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work that requires repetitive motion. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
