Job Title: Tax Accountant

Type of Role: Contract

Expected Length of Contract: Long-term rolling contract (6-12+ months)

Shift / Hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri

Location: Irvine, CA

Hourly Range: $30/hr, but could be flexible based on experience
 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Accountant to support the organization’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate tax filings, maintaining compliance with applicable tax laws, and supporting audits and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, tax compliance experience, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
 

Role and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax, sales & use tax, property tax, and other applicable tax returns
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision and reporting
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Maintain accurate tax records, workpapers, and supporting documentation
• Support tax audits, inquiries, and examinations from tax authorities
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess potential impacts on the business
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, and legal teams on tax-related matters
• Assist with improving tax processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in tax accounting or tax compliance
• Solid understanding of corporate tax principles and tax accounting standards
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and tax software
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
